BECUR Frequently Asked Questions:
- Who can apply to BECUR?
- Any undergraduate student involved in research in the biological sciences!
- You do NOT need to be a biochemistry major or club member
- How long is the average presentation?
- 8-15 minutes
- How will I be judged?
- Graduate students will be informal judges and provide feedback on your presentations
- ASBMB judging cards with numerical categories will be given to students
- Are there prizes?
- Yes, (budget willing) we hope to give out awards to the highest performing students, and top scoring poster(s) will be highlighted on our page!
- What will the modality be?
- We plan to host the conference in person, as well as having an online zoom component to allow for out of state attendees.
- Are there keynote speaker?
- Yes! We plan to host at least one PhD/PI level researcher (TBD) as well as 2 undergraduate keynote speakers.
- Is it free to present and/or attend?
- Yes!!! Please free to join us even if you are not presenting! :)
