BECUR Frequently Asked Questions:
  • Who can apply to BECUR?
    • Any undergraduate student involved in research in the biological sciences!
    • You do NOT need to be a biochemistry major or club member
  • How long is the average presentation?
    • 8-15  minutes
  • How will I be judged?
    • Graduate students will be informal judges and provide feedback on your presentations
    • ASBMB judging cards with numerical categories will be given to students 
  • Are there prizes?
    • Yes, (budget willing) we hope to give out awards to the highest performing students, and top scoring poster(s) will be highlighted on our page! 
  • What will the modality be?
    • We plan to host the conference in person, as well as having an online zoom component to allow for out of state attendees.
  • Are there keynote speaker?
    • Yes! We plan to host at least one PhD/PI level researcher (TBD) as well as 2 undergraduate keynote speakers. 
  • Is it free to present and/or attend?
    • Yes!!! Please free to join us even if you are not presenting! :)
