What is Blastoff?
Blastoff 2022 Summer Camp cancelled!
To parents of BlastOff applicants:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the UA Biochemistry Club will have to cancel our annual BlastOff! summer camp this year. Coming back from COVID had a severe impact on club activity, and we are heartbroken we cannot host the event this year. We recognize this causes a change in your summer plans and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We would still like to support the young scientists of Tucson, so in lieu of the camp we will be handing out lab coats and DIY at home experiment kits that will be available for pickup on June 20-21 from 8am-12pm in the Koffler building. We greatly appreciate your understanding, and look forward to having the camp up & running again next year! :)
Kind regards,
UA Biochemistry Club Officers

BlastOff camp is a free week-long science summer day camp for middle school students coming from what are considered underprivileged backgrounds or low-income/socioeconomic schools in Tucson. BlastOff! camp provides middle schoolers the opportunity to gather and spend a week engaging in scientific exploration across a variety of disciplines under the guidance of university volunteers. These activities have been specifically designed to challenge students in scientific inquiry and understanding, while also being fun and mentally engaging. The goal of this program is to provide a fun, in-depth, and educational experience for middle-schoolers, who otherwise would not have this kind of opportunity. Due to our target audience, there is no cost to attend, and lunches/snacks will be provided. The only requirement is that a guardian drop-off and pick up the camper each day.
